About Ifeanyi
Expert Analysis

All eyes were on Class of 2027 edge Ifeanyi Emedobi at the college day workout. Extremely gifted athlete – tall, long, rangy and explosive edge with huge upside. Quick and fast, loose hipped, very athletic and long legged. I saw him in-person last winter and he only keeps getting bigger and stronger. Quick and explosive first step, very rangy and twitchy, On tape he is a blue-chip pass rusher with a high motor, takes great angles to QBs and can deliver big hits. Very disruptive prospect. Last season was his first year playing football, still adding weight to his frame, could be Indiana’s top prospect in the Class of 2027.

. Another fast-rising prospect in the Class of 2027 who has just played football for one season, he is now well past the double-digit offer mark with more to come. Emedobi is a top-end pass rusher with twitch, takes great pursuit angles and wraps up. Very good edge with a high motor.

At the time of this writing, other sites do not have Ifeyanyi Emedobi ranked yet, but we feel more than comfortable with making him a top-five prospect in the state and Indiana’s No. 2 edge rusher, leapfrogging him from the No. 16 to No. 4 spot. Emedobi has simply been the fastest-rising recruit this spring and one of the fastest-rising recruits I’ve seen in a long time; with his size, arm length, use-of-hands and athletic ability, college coaches have rightly taken note of his talents and we have too.

Ifeayanyi Emedobi is the fastest-rising recruit in the state and for good reason. Even since our early March roundup, he has picked up even more offers, including from Penn State, Kansas State, and South Florida, the latter of which he measured at 11 and 3/8 hand size and 35-inch arms. Rutgers has also jumped in on the action. Putting on the cleats before last fall could wind up being the best choice the 6-foot-3, 215-pound edge rusher with high upside could ever make.

Emedobi is only entering his 2nd year playing football, but the potential is clear and obvious. His production year 1 on the field was raw instincts and natural ability. He’s got the ideal frame to develop at the next level. He bends well and can get around the corner. He’s got strong hands and naturally knows how to swipe down offensive line punches. 59 tackles, 21 TFLS, 6.5 SACKS, and 2 forced fumbles in his first year of football speak volumes. The eyes are on him, and he’s quickly climbing boards for all the right reasons. He’s recently picked up an offer from Notre Dame, which adds to his long list of offers as he continues to be one of the hottest recruits in the Midwest.

started playing football just 11 months ago, and it’s a choice he will certainly not regret. Emedobi is a very good pass rusher who has stood out at offseason camps and workouts. Minnesota, Cincinnati, Illinois, and Kansas are some of his offers, but lately he has earned opportunities from Wisconsin and South Florida. With his lean, athletic frame and huge wingspan, expect more to come for this twitchy pass rusher.

has tremendous edge speed which also shined at the Indiana Preps camp in one-on-ones. Tall, long and rangy, with a big wingspan, Emedobi wins at the corner effectively, he can dip his shoulder and run the hoop against opposing OTs. He picked up an offer from Cincinnati recently and it’s easy to see why. He holds three Divsiion I offers, he recorded 50 tackles, 5.5 sacks and 15 quarterback pressures last season.

Emedobi is an explosive edge who comes off the edge with a purpose. He’s explosive out of his stance and stresses the offensive edge in a hurry. He’s coming off a 59-tackle, 21 TFL, 6.5 sack, and 3 forced fumbles season. He’s recently been offered by Western Michigan and you can anticipate that list to grow.

Emedobi could easily be one of the quickest risers in the class. He’s got a good build and first step. He dominated Huntington North Friday night and had one of those games you raise an eye at. His 10 tackles, 6.5 TFLs, 1.5 sacks, and forced fumble on the night were all impressive numbers-wise, but it’s how he looked doing it. He looked a step ahead, bigger, and faster than everyone out there. Keep an eye on Emedobi moving forward.
