Hugo Smith Hugo Smith 6'0" | 180 lbs | LB TX is another all-around athlete to keep an eye on heading into the future. The 6ft Austin-Area athlete splits time at both running back and linebacker, and plays both very well. Hugo truly excels at linebacker, and seemingly commands the field whenever he is out there. Thanks to his experience at running back, Hugo has the side-to-side speed that allows him to cover a large portion of the field within those first 5-7 yards. In coverage, Hugo tracks with the quarterback’s eyes and seemingly stalks where the ball is going. Once the ball is thrown, he has the speed to jump the ball and intercept it and take the ball the other way. Hugo is also a very physical tackler who has no problem driving people into the dirt. Just from what I have seen from Hugo, it is evident that he is one of those high-upside kids who is going to make a big jump at the next level. I am very excited to see where his career takes him in the future.
