Mercado, a two-way player shows solid defensive tape and you see his natural bend and athleticism as a defender. An intriguing prospect who has the size and physical play style that translate as an interior offensive lineman.

Hezekiah has fantastic movement, an imposing frame and a motor that does not stop. He is strong, aggressive and incredibly agile for a player of his size. Mercado was a 2023 Trench Trophy finalist, given to Western New York’s best lineman. He plays with high emotion and intensity. This is one of the best lineman prospects in all of Section VI. He has received interest from some Division I colleges but has not committed as of yet.

Mercado has the size for the next level but refining some of his skillsets could really put him on the map of FCS and local coaches. Mercado would rank as the #2 or #3 NT in this class if our position grouping was that refined.
