got his senior season off to a great start. Recruiters love the way that Smith uses his leverage and speed off of the edge. He has a never quit attitude and is an absolutely relentless defender. In Grissom’s win over Lee-Huntsville, Smith was once again unblockable. The senior posted 10 total tackles, 2 quarterback pressures and 2 tackles for loss. I can’t wait to see the season that

is a destructive EDGE prospect out of Grissom that has been a consistent playmaker on their defense the last few years. Smith can do everything his coaches ask of him- he’s a talented pass rusher, can set the edge, and even occasionally will drop back into coverage to shut down TEs/RBs. As a pass rusher, Smith can generate consistent pressure. He has a wide variety of moves and athleticism he uses to overwhelm and beat offensive linemen to get to the quarterback. Against the run, Smith is a dominant defender. He sets the edge well, doesn’t let the running back break to the outside, and is a terrific tackler who consistently brings down the ball carrier at and behind the line of scrimmage. After his prolific junior season last year, Smith is set up for a really big final season this fall. Be sure to watch out for Smith and this Grissom squad, they have the potential to have a really good year!

is a Swiss Army Knife for Grissom. Injuries took its toll on the Tigers’ offensive line in 2023. Despite being only a 215-pound lineman, Smith filled in admirably on the offensive front last fall. This season, he returns to the defensive side of the ball and the production is expected to be off the charts. Smith has extreme quickness and a very high motor. He is full speed on every drill and has a passion to be a dominant defender.

Coming up from the Huntsville, Alabama area to continue boosting his stock, Smith did that with an outstanding performance at our Showcase where his motor was on full display and his upside to rush the backfield was very evident. Where the Yellowhammer State defensive end stood out the most was during 1 on 1 competition where he showed a nice burst off the snap along with a good bend. Smith used his hands well while also maintaining an active motor till the end of camp. He is a good athlete too that could play the edge linebacker role within a 3-4 college defense. The Tigers rising senior needs to continue packing on more size but I see upside here as a potential college pass rusher with deceptive athleticism.

Coming from the state of Alabama, Smith was an unknown to me but leaving the Boro, this 2025 edge linebacker is someone I will be paying attention moving forward because this guy can play, sporting upside to make it into the college ranks. What stood out the most about Smith was his motor and aggression. Anytime Smith was asked to perform, he did so with all his energy, giving everything he had, forcing people to pay attention to him. His game does translate well to the college game as Smith shows nice bend, burst and upper body strength to speed around the edge and chase down the quarterback. He also has a flexible lower base and active feet, so there are a lot of traits about Smith that can be developed in college as a forceful edge pass rusher. This Alabama based talent will certainly be someone I follow over the next year, watching his progression and seeing how he develops.
