He finished the year as Doss’ leading rusher, carrying the ball 75 times for 366 yards and two touchdowns in nine games. Gough is a strong runner, showing the ability to lower his shoulder and keep his feet churning through contact to break tackles with ease. He has also shown the speed to break away for long runs once he hits the second level. Harley also made an impact on defense at linebacker this past season, finishing the year with 53 tackles. Gough will be a player to keep an eye on as he continues to develop over the next few years.

A vicious, tone-setting Linebacker that sees the game significantly better than most at this age and stage of development. He’s quick to read with and diagnose with his eyes, then reacts accordingly. Plays with twitch and suddenness in tight quarters, specifically when avoiding the muck inside the tackle box, against the run. In June 2025, led the Kentucky Future Stars in tackles against Tennessee. A vocal and emotional leader on the field. One of the better open field tacklers in the state for this class, but really excels in filling the hole against the run. A true hammer.

Gough was extremely aggressive and played with speed and tenacity for all four quarters. By my count, which are unofficial stats, Gough was the leading tackler in the game–regardless of team. The Doss High School prospect finished with 10 tackles, including two for loss, on the afternoon.

Back for his second stint with the Kentucky Future Stars, Harley Gough Harley Gough 5'10" | 185 lbs | ATH Doss | 2029 State KY has taken some big strides on the football field from last year to this year. A big, thick Middle Linebacker-type, Gough has grown two inches and has replaced some of the bad weight from a year ago–with muscle. He looks significantly leaner right now, as oppose to this time last year–however, his weight is nearly identical. Just like his Eric Forney Jr. Eric Forney Jr. 5'10" | 180 lbs | LB Kentucky Country Day | 2029 State KY listed above, Gough was an obvious standout on the Region 2 squad in the KYMSFA Battle of the Regions in March 2025.

Like several others on this list, Gough passed the eye test before I even got the roster and knew who he was. He lists himself at 5-foot-10 and 185-pounds at this point, which is two inches and 20 pounds heavier than he was when I last saw him in June at the Future Stars event. By my count he was at, or at least near, double digit tackles in both of R2’s games this weekend. He was physically impressive, to say the least.
