Expert Analysis

Nellum made the transfer over the grapevine for his senior season moving from Los Alamitos to Frontier, who has bolstered their roster this off-season coming off a state title win last December. Nellum a SDSU commit, should be a great addition to the Frontier defensive line and add elite interior length and pressure to an already stout front. He is strong at the POA, plays with heavy hands and is athletic and has some good twitch for his size. Nellum is a key name to note along the valley’s best up-front this season.

Nellum flipped his commitment from UNLV to San Diego St. this week. The massive 6’5″/345 transfer from California put his name among the top OL prospects in Nevada when he enrolled at Centennial this offseason. Nellum picked up his third D-I offer from the Aztecs in May and took an OV later in the month before flipping his commitment.

Nellum is a force on the interior DL with a massive frame at 6’5” 355 lbs. Physically imposing he creates problems at the LOS for opposing offenses clogging the inside and requiring double teams forcing them to run outside. As a run-stopper, he excels at anchoring the middle, using powerful hands and natural strength to control opponents at the POA. His ability to hold ground and occupy multiple blockers frees up linebacker behind him and consistently disrupts the rhythm of opposing run games. Despite his size, he shows good bend and short area quickness to be more than just a space eater. He flashes a good get off and uses his length/leverage to collapse the pocket as interior pass rush. His bull rush is powerful and can drive the OL straight back into the QB. Committed early to his first offer from UNLV but has since added Sacramento State and San Diego State. Enters the rankings inside the top 20 of 2026 defensive linemen.

The UNLV commitment showed elite glimpses of what he can do for the hometown Rebels in the future. Nellum has elite size and strength to play against anyone. Nellum is transitioning from DL, but through time and technique, his OL ceiling is extremely high.
