Junior Gunnar Martens Gunnar Martens LB Hooker | 2027 State OK is going to come into this season as one of the more intriguing prospects to watch and it’s specifically because of the positions he plays. Martens has taken snaps at quarterback and is listed as a quarterback for one of his positions but he’ll also start on the defensive line and he could play in a few other spots on offense. You don’t see the QB/DL combination very often. But Martens is also a player to watch for what he brings on the defensive side of the ball. He’s been very consistent as a disrupter over the last two seasons. The front seven of the defense is where Hooker needs experience and Martens has it.

and Gunnar has certainly had an impact on the Hooker defense this season. He has 54 tackles on the season and 15 tackles for loss this fall. And just like a few other players on this standout defense, Martens has played excellent in the playoffs. Nearly half of his tackles on the season have come in the last month as the playoffs have begun. He did not have any defensive stats in the regular season meeting against Fairview. That should change on Saturday.
