About Gordon

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

High Octane. I don’t hold back, I bring it every play, I expect the ball to be in my hands every play. My dad calls it “reckless abandonment”, that my enthusiasm for the game flows from every pore. I run fast, getting faster, my routes are precise, explosive jumper, I have great hands, and body control.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a bit of a perfectionist. I demand it in myself and in those around me. I am not afraid of being vocal about it. I put in my max effort and see no reason others can give the same. I know this takes time, and on game day we better shine. This extends into my academics and work environments.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am actively involved in my local church. We actively serve those in our local community, state and around the world. We are actively helping the elderly in our community, we do home visits, we help them with yard work and other tasks.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I am a hard worker, because I work hard to open doors for me. I have lofty goals, and this attracts people to my group of friends. I have large groups of friends and fans- because of my ability to relate, listen and contribute. I lead mostly from the front, I want the role of leader- I thrive in working with others to create strong systems of success at home, school, socially, and where I work.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

The challenges in life are part of the system of growth that I enjoy. I enjoy problem solving and coming up with solutions. I have a big family, funds are tight, which means I work. I have three jobs, mowing lawns, cleaning cow/horse stalls, and cleaning a local mechanics shop. I pay for the camps, showcases and other events I attend.

What type of college are you looking for?

Somewhere I can play and contribute. I want to go somewhere where they have high academic standards and high expectations for athletes.

Gordon has excellent size, and his frame should allow him to add 10-15 lbs with relative ease. He is good off the line and is light on his feet. Gordon is best on vertical routes where he can use his speed to stack his corner. He creates separation well and is a player who will go and get the ball. He has strong hands, good concentration at the catch point, and he transitions upfield seamlessly. He’s a receiver who will make waves in recruiting. His skill set translates to playing on Saturdays.
