is built like a college defensive end or edge. Standing at 6-foot-3 and a 195 pounds with a long frame, Hansen looks chiseled and built to rush the passer.
Though he didn’t produce a ton of numbers against Pella’s elite offense, Hansen looks the part, and should greatly benefit from his testing numbers and in the weight room when college coaches stop by Marion to get a look at the talent on the football team. If anything, he’ll earn a spot on a roster at the next level thanks to his potential, and the frame he can continue to fill out.

Marion took a big step back in 2024 after consecutive winning seasons, but one player that was playing in winning form for the Wolves was Gideon Hanson. Hanson emerged in 2024 with 23.5 tackles (15 solo), 12 TFLs, and 4.5 sacks. Hansen’s skillset may be better suited as an off-ball LB, but his speed makes him so disruptive, being able to stop the run in the backfield at the point of the handoff, and being able to chase down the ball-carriers headed the opposite way. Hansen shows solid tackling form and hitting power that could further be developed with a bit of strength. Hansen should enter his senior season as one of the clear captains for the Wolves.

The Wolves benefited greatly by Hansen disrupting opposing offenses last season. He totaled 23.5 tackles (15 solo) with 12.0 stops for loss and 4.5 sacks. Hansen shows us how he takes of business during his junior highlight video. He’s an athletic, angular edge with a frame capable of adding mass and strength without losing any quickness. And that’s a big part of his game. While his pass-rush moves are developing, he beats a lot of opponents by getting by them before they can square him up.
