Crane has developed steadily and took a big step forward this past season. His production jumped in a big way with 78 tackles, 18 TFLs, 8 sacks, and 24 hurries. He played with confidence and looked more decisive in how he attacked. He’s got a quick first step, plays with leverage, and doesn’t shy away from contact. That kind of growth year over year shows he’s figuring it out, and if the trend holds, he’s going to be tough to deal with as a senior.

Under-the-radar recruit. Strong pass rusher. Can spin off opposing OTs and quickly reach the Q. Has good use-of-hands and a good first step. Picked up first offer from Denison. Finished with 82 tackles, eight sacks and 26 tackles for loss last season. All-Hoosier Hills Conference Selection.

I’m not sure if it was a coaching decision or if Crane decided to become a full-time pass rusher, but it was the best thing that’s happened for Crane in quite some time. He’s got rare length and always has first contact with the guy across from him. He’s explosive and has strong legs which help his drive. He had a huge year and I’m hoping he adds to it next fall. 78 tackles, 18 TFLs, 8 sacks, and 24 hurries this year for Crane as year 1 is fairly impressive. With his frame, I like him to continue to add to that next year.
