It seems like for the last 18 months or so, Steele has just slowly and surely raised his stock, with the peak of his recruitment looking like sometime between now and signing day. Steele is a stout, explosive, one-cut style runner who is a TD threat from any spot on the field. He is a T/F standout with a 10.95 PR in the 100M, which is one of the best times at his hypothetical weight classes in the state. Kids that emerge late onto the D1 radar are either really unique, or really fast. Steele is really fast, and he does so on a good looking frame. I imagine some FBS coaches are going to be watching him closely this fall.
There’s now a couple of years of experience under Steele’s belt, who is a three-sport athlete. 1He has clocked 1.27 100M, moving well around 190. Low center of gravity. Hard yards between tackles. Drives at contact. Breakaway speed is there against current comp. Definitely physical enough to play in college, and he can roll downhill. At the very least, in-state small schools need to stop by in the spring.
One of the top returning running backs in Cobb County, Steele is currently ranked as the No. 25 RB prospect in the state for the 2027 class after an outstanding sophomore season where he ran for 894 yards and 11 touchdowns. The impressive 5-foot-11 195-pounder hit the 100-yard mark five times an averaged a strong 6.4 yards per carry. Look for this shifty, tackle-breaking back from Kennesaw to put up even bigger numbers as a junior in 2025.
11.27 100M (2024), moving well around 190. Low center of gravity. Will get you tough yards between tackles. Drives at contact. Breakaway speed is there against current comp. Size/speed combo is intriguing.
A patient, balanced runner who runs hard between the tackles, Steele is a promising back in Cobb County who shows quick feet, burst, and the ability to pick up yards after first contact. He brings good size and ran wild as a sophomore this fall, taking off for 894 yards and 11 touchdowns. He averaged over six yards per carry and ran for 100+ yards in five games. He’s one of the top young backs north of Atlanta and bound for a giant junior season next year.
