The 6’3″ 200 lbs senior makes his biggest mark, and looks his best, at safety. Rutherford looks like a legitimate three level safety. You can play him deep, let him read the QB, and close on the catch point. He has the ball skills to generate turnovers also. You can also rely on the big DB to slide down into the box and be an extra LB essentially. The strength is there to get off blocks, he has good burst to jump short routes or fly through gaps, and is a sound tackler. Lastly, the senior can be used in man coverage over a TE with his size, athleticism, and strength. Gary is a need to know prospect.
