Gabe Goitom spent his senior season at Independence High School in Ashburn, Va., but has announced his intention to reclassify and play for St. Thomas More in Montville, Conn., next season. Goitom does a good job recognizing pass routes, which helps him run and stay glued to receivers in coverage. He has also shown that he can easily change direction when receivers make cuts. Goitom also displayed soft hands as a receiver on offense, but he could be more aggressive going when he’s making a play on the ball as a defensive back. If accurate, his listed height and weight (6-foot-2, 185 pounds) are ideal for a defensive back, but added strength is a must. His film didn’t show any plays where he had to help in run support, but he does break up a lot of passes with his physical play once the receiver gets his hands on the ball. College coaches will want to see more of him defending the run.
