Freddie was excellent all night for mount pleasant in there week 1 win. Freddie lined up all over the offensive formation for the oilers and came up with multiple big plays that were crucial in the victory. On one play Freddie lined up at quarterback rolled to his left and threw a beautiful ball back across the field to a wide open oiler that led to 6 points. Freddie has been a player I have been keeping an eye on and at 6’3″ and rangy could be a weapon for any team he is on. I think Freddie recruitment continues to rise as the season rolls on, and as versatile as he is could fill a roll at multiple positions.

Mount Pleasant may have the most talented quarterback room in the state with Xavier Creguer Xavier Creguer 6'0" | 184 lbs MI and Freddie Makinen Freddie Makinen 6'3" | 205 lbs | QB Mt. Pleasant | 2027 State MI . Each quarterback has strengths that complement each other and the Oiler offense well. Freddie is a 6’3″ left handed Qb that can absolutely sling it. Freedie split reps with Xavier during the scrimmage and showed he has total command of the offense and can distribute the rock to the play makers that surround him. On one play Freddie rolled to his left tucked the ball and housed a 40 yard run. Freddie is going to have a solid season and the Oilers QB room is as talented as they come.

Freddie was a player I walked away very impressed with on Wednesday night. The left handed gunslinger let balls rip all night long and left no doubt arm strength is not a problem. Freddie made several throws from the hash mark to corner routes and he rarely missed. Freddie showed excellent mechanics and moved well in the pocket to deliver bullet passes to his wide receivers. I was also impressed how well he moved for his size as he rolled out of the pocket. The oilers have 2 excellent quarterbacks on there roster and they may have one of the best quarterback rooms in the state. Freddie left no doubt he is a name to watch as we roll into summer.

The first couple of throws show Freddie’s ability to toss it quickly to the middle of he field. Even when pressured, he does a solid job of finding a receiver and launching it. Then, 0:49 showcases a very accurate pass just over a defender’s outstretched hands.

In order to become a productive player at the Varsity level, Freddie needs to clean up his mechanics. From head to toe, his mechanics are extremely inconsistent, and it hurts his accuracy and throw power. If he’s able to clean up the mechanics, he’ll be good!
