A very quick evaluation for Ford, whom I was able to catch a glimpse of during the initial drills. For one, Ford’s throw power is on-par with the best QBs at the camp. Mechanically, I like his upper body. Nice, consistent throwing motion. Ford is a little inconsistent with his footwork, which should be a point of emphasis as he transitions to the next level.
I wish I had watched Ford more when it came to the competition portion. I’m interested in seeing what kind of college attention Ford earns in the coming months.

Like teammates Pierce and Pavel, I think Ford could find some success this offseason.
Ford projects as a pro-style QB in college. Last season, he completed 64% of his passes on 121 attempts for 1128 yards. Ford’s Junior Season tape shows a number of really nicely-placed throws to receivers running in full stride. As long as Ford has his feet set, he has the accuracy to complete any pass. Ford does need to work on his accuracy under pressure, though. When under pressure, Ford tends to throw ill-advised balls or he begins scrambling without looking downfield at all.
Some things to clean up, but with good showings at offseason camps, Ford could be a college prospect. Either way, he’s one of the best pro-style passers in Northern Michigan.

Ford did start for Marquette this past season, but I think 2025 could be a true breakout year for him.
When I watched Ford in his matchup against Lowell, I was impressed with his poise and accuracy in the pocket. As long as his feet were set, Ford was able to make quick reads and toss perfect passes to all areas of the field. Once he was forced outside of the pocket, Ford struggled a lot more.
The reason why I’m including Ford in this article is because of his upside. If Ford is able to make steady, consistent improvements throughout this offseason, he could be an all-region player next season. Look for Ford to be a potential late-bloomer D3 Quarterback prospect.

I’ve seen Ford once in person, and he has obvious talent. He knows how to throw the football and can be very accurate when planted in the pocket. My gut says he’s an NAIA prospect, but he could work up to D3 attention with a great offseason. Here’s what I think of him currently.
- Excellent mechanics for a U.P. prospect; still needs to work on consistency
- Above-average accuracy when planted in the pocket. Good ball velocity, too.
- Accuracy drops significantly when off-platform or pressured
- Good connection to some of his receivers
- If Ford wants to play college football, he needs to get to offseason camps and ball out (NAIA/D3 Camps)
