Lucas measures in at 5’11 145-pounds. The sophomore QB threw 93/162 for 1404 yards, 57.4% completion rate, 10 TDs, 5 INT, 76 carries for 336 yards with 10 touchdowns. He has good athletic ability due to good acceleration, speed, balance, and change of direction. Very good release paired with good throw power. Lucas has good progression speed. Good pocket presence. If no one’s open, he’ll use his very good scramble ability to run for the first down. Very good ball placement skills paired with very good touch. Lucas takes care of the football as well. He’s not reckless but decisive. This two-way starter will continue to shock people going into next season.

Lucas has been having a solid sophomore season going 69/118 for 1053 yards for 58.5% completion rate, 6 TDs, and 2 INT. The 5’11 150-pound passer has good athletic ability due to good speed, acceleration, and change of direction. This in turn allows him to get good scramble ability and escape the pocket. Under pressure, he’ll roll out and maintain good accuracy down field and on the run. Very good release and good throw power. Lucas has very good ball placement skills. He’ll throw it in stride with his receiver, or right on the money. Very good touch on his throws as well. Lucas has good pocket presence as well. I really like Lucas’ decision making and how he takes care of the ball.

Lucas had an impressive freshman season, helping lead his team to a victory over Mead in the 3A championship game this past winter. Last season, he threw for 646 yads, 5 TDs, 4 INT, 55.1% completion rate, 93 carries for 381 yards and 6 touchdowns on the ground. Lucas has good athletic ability due to his good acceleration, speed, and change of direction. This allows him to have good scramble ability once the pocket collapses. He has a good release and good throw power. Lucas is decisive with his throws, going through his reads to find the open man. He has good touches on his ball. Very good ball placement skills, making it easy for his receiver to catch. He stays poised I’m very excited to see how he continues his growth, after a championship season.

Lucas is an under the radar dual-threat quarterback with deceptive speed and playmaking ability. He rushed for 381 yards and 6 touchdowns, while throwing for 646 yards and 5 scores, completing 55% of his passes. Playing in a run heavy offense that won the 3A championship, Lucas was the team’s third leading rusher and a standout player in a potent offense. With several key offensive weapons graduating, Lucas is poised to take on a larger role. If he develops his passing consistency and builds chemistry with a new supporting cast, he could lead his team back to the postseason. Expect a big step forward this fall.

Lucas showcased his versatility and resilience in Thompson Valley’s victory, overcoming a tough day throwing the football to contribute significantly on the ground. Although he threw two interceptions, Lucas proved to be the team’s leading rusher with 11 carries for 57 yards and a touchdown. His ability to make plays outside the pocket and extend drives with his legs was instrumental in keeping the game close. Lucas displayed athleticism and determination, finding ways to create opportunities for his team despite the challenges. He consistently showed his ability to evade defenders and pick up chunk yardage, making him a key offensive weapon. His dual-threat capabilities and leadership under pressure underline his potential as a dynamic quarterback. With continued development as a passer, Lucas has the tools to take his game to the next level and cement himself as one of the team’s foundational players.
