Benson is a smooth athlete with good hands that really can track the football in the air. He shows the ability to get in and out of breaks with great speed and balance. Shows toughness to go up and get the football along with take hits while making the play. He is a well-built prospect that could play inside or outside in the right system.

Benson checks into our rankings as a top five wideout in his class, and just inside the top 45 overall. He is a very smooth athlete that can play either in the slot or on the outside, and is a mismatch nightmare wherever he lines up for Lakeland. Benson shows he can get off press coverage, get in defenders blind spots and does a nice job at stemming his routes downfield while showing consistent hands. After the catch, he can make defenders miss in space and is a hard nosed runner that shows contact balance and forward leg drive at the POA.

Benson is an explosive slot receiver that can shift into the backfield as well as stretch the field vertically and is a natural runner with forward lean, leg drive and a nice initial burst through the first level. He can make defenders miss in tight windows, and shows he is not afraid to lower his shoulder into linebackers/defensive backs when needed when he is coming from the backfield. Downfield, he does a nice job at settling in zone coverage, has strong hands when working across the middle, and flashes highpoint abilities in traffic while able to win on 50/50 ball situations as well. He is a D3 prospect that should see his stock continue to rise a bit throughout the season, and is a name to note as far as receivers go across Idaho.
