is an explosive edge defender who is super talented. He has one of the fastest 1st steps off the ball from an edge defender in the 2027 class. He has good size (6’2″), and when you combine that with his athleticism, you see a talented edge defender. His speed around the edge is also impressive, as he uses his athleticism and bend to make plays against opposing offenses. He then has a motor that chases plays all over the field. Rankin also played as a tight end. He shows a good ability to catch the ball, especially in between defenders.
6’3, 215 pounds. 3.4 GPA. A 2027 EDGE/ATH out of Conwell-Egan who has taken a noticeable jump since the last time I evaluated him. I’ve seen him in person and the improvement is real.
Three-minute tape on Hudl. Still raw, but the pass-rush potential is obvious now. Rankin is longer, stronger, and playing with much better urgency than before. He’s starting to turn that athleticism into real production, getting after quarterbacks in the loaed PCL.
First step looks quicker and he’s finishing plays more consistently. Shows the type of closing burst you want from an EDGE/OLB type. Still learning the position, but the flashes are much more frequent now.
The physical tools already align with what next-level programs look for. With steady development and improved polish, he should attract legitimate FCS recruiting traction and could push beyond that depending on growth.
Measurbles need a major update, Rankin is now self-listed at 6’3, 215 pounds. Up big time in weight, gained an inch in height, too. WR prospect who might see some EDGE work at the next level, so long as he stays at this H/W. 3.8 GPA. Would love to see him run a 40 with college coaches present, Twitter bio has him running a 4.4 40. Love the updates on Hudl, excited to get him off our watch list.
Four lengthy tapes are available to watch. Very encouraging sign, will likely land on our ranks thanks to ample tape. Northeast tape has him hand off the dirt, OLB in a traditional 3-4 look. Great pursuit angles, can shed laterally consistently once engaged, great length allows this. Ton of pressure forced, recorded a sack, and a TFL vs. Northeast. Developing into a real prospect before our eyes. Will rank well. Great hash to sideline pursuer. Solid motor, kid has a natural feel for the defensive side of the ball, good on whoever stationed him here.
A player with intriguing size. I don’t know much about the junior WR/EDGE prospect. He’s currently on our Watch List to be ranked.
A full season tape up on Hudl is a must to be ranked as an upperclassman. Rankin has a few cut-ups on tape, yet coaches want to see his full talents on display in said format. Excited to learn more.
