Expert Analysis
Tyler Stevens | Prep Redzone Scout
Harris is already an absolute stud. He possesses serious burst and great speed. When he runs, he moves with intention, making sharp moves to get around opponents, and his speed and agility are nearly enough to evade them completely. He runs with good pad level and can be physical, using his forward momentum to power through defenders. Making honorable mention all-state as a freshman is just the beginning for him, and I look forward to his performance next season as he has decided to transfer from Cleveland Heights to the Tarblooders of Glenville in 2025.

Harris quickly burst onto the scene as a freshman, earning the respect of the Cleveland Heights coaching staff. Harris is a talented tailback with excellent vision, top-end speed and ability to change direction. He can make defenders miss in space, runs at a low pad level and consistently maintains balance. He already holds an offer from Kentucky.

picked up his first offer in a big way with Kentucky backing up what Harris has shown as one of the top talents in the 2028 class. Seeing the field as a freshman is no small feat, especially with his two-way play ability. Harris lined up in coverage most of the night and had a quiet game because he was tight on his man. The ball didn’t come Harris’ way much as a compliment to his play. Already this season he has made several explosive plays on offense as a durable athlete with a high upside with the ball in his hands. He doesn’t look like a freshman on the field with instincts that cannot be taught. Harris has lightning quick speed already which makes home run plays an option every time he touches the football. The staff at Kentucky noticed it first, but other schools will soon know Harris’ name.

#20 Elijah Harris
Stats: 11 att for 68 yds, 1 ren for 14 yds
Highlight: 27 yard touchdown run
Harris represented out of Ohio on all phases. I felt he not only carried the ball inside the tackles with a chip on his shoulder, but blocked well also. It was obvious from the first whistle that he was going to be the bell cow behind this offense on the ground. Converted a couple 3rd and 4th down must have plays. Should have had two touchdowns, but unfortunately ran out of time with the ball sitting at the 1 yard line. This would have been a lay up for Harris.

Harris stood out to me because of his ability to gain yards after contact. One of the bigger backs at AYF the Ohio native has great footwork and looks like your prototypical running back for his age. Overall a very powerful runner with a bright future at the position.
- Big RB
- Fast with agility
- good footwork
- can break tackles
- powerful runner
