Expert Analysis
Chris Smith | Prep Redzone Scout
Manning roles on both sides of the ball for his Indians squad, Groves did a little bit of everything in the Class 2A championship game on Saturday where he lined up at receiver and produced several key first downs but also made multiple big hits on defense as well. Groves is a big guy at 6’4 220 plus pounds that moves well for his size and you saw that on display in Chattanooga. On multiple occasions, Groves was leaned on to haul in several first down passes while on defense, the future Kentucky Wildcat made several tackles in space that slowed down Riverside drives. Groves needs to continue hitting the weight room, adding more weight but the athleticism and mobility are there for this Mid-Tennessee talent to become a feared hitter during his time in Lexington.

Possibly nobody on this list is hotter right now than Groves and he is the kind of talent that can grow into national status before this whole 2024 recruiting process is over. Sporting great size, length and natural athletic abilities, Groves has tons of tools and traits within himself to develop into a feared edge rusher or even possibly a heat seeking missile from the inside. This Mid-Tennessee backer also has the mobility to drop back in coverage and make plays on the ball as well, so Groves screams potential and you can see why so many collegiate coaches are hot on his trail. Look for this guy to continue adding in the offers and becoming a possible Top 30 in-state prospect.
