About Eli
Expert Analysis

Macauley is one of the toughest dudes in West Michigan. His strength is a major plus and his technique is very solid. He’s another player benefiting from playing in a very tough conference and playing some very sound competition weekly.
Eli has done plenty to earn himself some respect on the recruiting trail and should be in consideration for more. His senior season has the potential to be a huge rise in stock for him.

Strengths
- Great play speed
- Quick out of his pulls- always finds someone to hit
- Finishes blocks
- Angles blocks away from ballcarrier
- Relentless
Weaknesses
- Zero pass blocking technique
- Few straight second-level blocks
Eli is one of the best run blockers in the state. On-par with others with D1 offers. Great first step out of his pull and does a great job of hitting a defender in stride and navigating him away from the ballcarrier. Where Eli fails is pass blocking. Bad technique, but still, always looks like he’s ready to hit someone.
High D2 prospect- D1 with good pass blocking and an extra inch in height

Eli is one of the best sub-6’3″ linemen in Michigan. Right now, I’d say Eli will receive GLIAC offers, but there’s also a chance he’s a MIAA guy. In fact, I have him ranked right in the middle of my D2 guys.
The reason I’m not super confident in my evaluation is that I don’t have in-person notes on Eli, and his tape is just a step behind other great “small” linemen (Simonson, FHE & Hein, Spring Lake- both GLIAC prospects).
My opinion of course, but the main difference in Eli’s film is that he’s a step slower and less explosive than the guys I listed above. Though, I think Eli is every bit as fundamentally sound. I really like Eli’s footwork, I like how he finishes blocks, and I like, but don’t love, how he moves in the open field. All he needs to do is attend camps and ball out, which Eli is no stranger to.

Eli is one of those offensive linemen that is really fun to watch a highlight reel of. He’s a strong legged kid who can anchor down and rather than backing up, can sometimes just flat out take the rusher to the ground. On run plays, Eli can be seen getting up underneath the pads of his assignment, and driving him completely into no mans land, far from the play. His pure strength and overall agility makes Eli a threat to open up a huge running lane, and punish a defender or 2 in the process. The 2026 class is absolutely loaded on offensive linemen, and Eli is right in the mix as one of the top guys in this class!
