About Earl
Expert Analysis
Alin Edouard | Prep Redzone Scout
Earl brings more to the backfield than just carrying the football. He’s a running back who can make defenses pay in the passing game, giving his quarterback another option when he releases out of the backfield. Whether he’s catching swing passes, working underneath on short routes, or finding space against linebackers, Earl has the ability to turn those opportunities into big gains. Once the football is in his hands, his speed becomes a problem. Give him a crease, and he can accelerate through the second level with enough burst to take it all the way for six. He doesn’t need much room to get going, and when he reaches open field, defenders have their work cut out trying to catch him. What makes Earl an intriguing offensive weapon is that defenses have to respect him as both a runner and receiver. He gives his offense different ways to move the chains, and with his breakaway speed, any touch has the potential to turn into a touchdown.

Earl not just straight line speed but it’s how quickly he processes what’s happening and reacts without hesitation. On just a few clips in watching earl, he got what it takes to be a back.
When the ball is snapped, Earl doesn’t waste time. He gets moving right away and plays with urgency from the start of the rep. That quick trigger helps him beat opponents to spots and stay involved in plays before they fully develop.
Question is can Earl be a every down back ?
