Black started at C for the North 5:00 team without a single offer. He displayed great run blocking and snapped well from the opening drive. Coaches in attendance took notice, and he garnered his first three offers in the coming weeks from Pacific, Doane and Whitworth. He moves well and is good with his hands. Although he’s big enough to move to a guard or tackle position, his snapping ability makes him encouraging as a C going forward. There’s potential for a further breakout if he works on his deadlift and squat for stronger legs and can adjust to a lower center-of-gravity, an upside college coaches will welcome alongside his mauling abilities in the run game. His recruitment is still open for now.
