Even with the 150 new additions I was confident that we were going to see Drake move inside the Top 100 in this absolutely loaded Class of 2027. The 2027 plays two ways for St. Croix Falls, WR and DB. Looking back to 2025 it was already clear that Drake used his pairing of size and strength to win at WR. This fall he is back with an extra 10 lbs on his frame, so look for him to continue to bully DBs. On defense he was all over the field showing off his range and ball skills. Plus he was never one to shy away from the physical duties of the position. Make sure to get eyes on this kid this season. He holds several next level offers from the FCS, D2, and D3 levels.

Another extremely impressive WR/DB is Drake Petersen Drake Petersen 6'3" | 205 lbs | ATH St. Croix Falls | 2027 State WI out of St. Croix Falls. The 6’3″ 190 lbs athlete is a long, strong prospect who has the physicality to match up with WRs and DBs on the outside. His versatility on defense alone is impressive. He will be at LB, CB, or safety depending on the play. The range, physicality, and awareness he plays with allows him to be a three level defender. Then on offense the 2027 can use those long strides to get up the field and I was impressed at how well he could time and attack the ball in the air. Especially while in traffic. I think safety is his future, but WR is definitely an option too for the St. Croix Falls athlete.
