Good, solid, strong interior defensive lineman who plays with a flat back on his first step and holds the point well. Can sift through guards, diagnose and locate ballcarriers, make tackles behind the LOS and wrap up. Recorded 68 total tackles, 14 pressures and three sacks last season. Ohio Dominican offer.

Crook is a bull of a defensive tackle. He has a thick trunk and strong legs that he uses to overpower and overwhelm blockers. He was able to consistently push his man into the backfield and win reps. Through coaching he was able to learn how to utilize his hands and gain added leverage against opposing blockers. Donovan definitely projects to the next level as a space eating 0 technique. Some college coach is going to get a good run stuffing tackle in Crook.

The junior from Copley high school in Akron was another player I was looking forward to seeing perform on the day. Crook showed off a solid burst off the ball. He plays with heavy hands and a strong bull rush that he uses to bully blockers into the backfield. Donovan is not just all power though, he’s a sneaky athlete who can also pursue from the backside.

packs a punch from the defensive tackle position that makes him a skilled player at getting into the backfield. Crook has the rare speed and power combination that make him very difficult to guard head up. Has speed to get after the quarterback to create pressures. His first step when firing out of his stance can win him battles before they’ve begun. Plays interior offensive line and lets his aggressive play do the talking. Strong feet to keep himself planted in pass protection, but not so heavy he can’t make a good block when pulling. Goes in with a must-win mentality to lock into a battle then play to the whistle. Crook has put in a lot of work in the Lineman Lab and it shows as a high riser from the 2024 season. With a lot of strong film coming from his junior year, Crook will be a name to watch this postseason and beyond.
