About Dominick
Expert Analysis
Tyler Stevens | Prep Redzone Scout
Sgambellone was one of the youngest QB’s in 18U if not the youngest. He split time throughout his weekend but made several plays that impressed. He was working the middle of the field well and made several plays near the redzone where only his guy could get the ball. His processor was good for his age and I think that he could become one of the better prospects in New York with proper development and management.

looks bigger/stronger and faster from when I last saw him compete over a year ago. He was elusive and on point in the pocket, I expect a big sophomore campaign from him this fall. I keep forgetting how young he is cause he doesn’t act like a young man with a deer in the headlights type of look.

I’ve seen Sgambellone throw some dimes in past performances, I know him and his squad are excited for the opportunities to compete this weekend. I would also bet they are welcoming the potential inclement weather. This kid will be on point regardless, a great opportunity awaits ahead.

Coming all the way from Syracuse, NY, Dominick came down to compete with some of the best players in the region and did not disappoint. During the individual drills Dominick showed off his arm talent by sequencing his throwing motion and releasing the ball with some zip behind it. He is able to get his hips into the throw, adding that extra velocity QBs sometimes need to fit the ball into tight windows.
When it came time to go live and throw against some of the top DBs in the region, Dominick was able to place the ball where it needed to be. He showed that he can put the right amount of touch on the pass to get it over the trailing defender. What stood out the most though is Dominick’s ability to find success on the move or off balanced. He can make an accurate off platform throw even when he’s near a full sprint.
