Dequavion started his high school career as an impressive WR, debuting as WR1 in the original rankings a few years ago. Since then the big athlete has grown an impressive frame that now has him at TE, but still providing his QB with a reliable mismatch. In 2023 the big man turned 5 of his 18 catches into scores. Pinter made a lot of plays as an H Back or lined up in the slot. He attacked the seam from either alignment, going up over LBs and holding onto the pass through hits from safeties. Even at his size, Pinter has maintained a quick release and the acceleration to get on top of his DB/LB as he races up the seam. Pinter also is able to line up out wide and make plays too. After the catch the massive target runs angry and makes the defense earn their tackles. Westosha Central will be looking for a top target to go to this fall. Pinter could be in line for a big year. Keep an eye on him this fall.

Dequavion first entered these rankings as a WR, but his frame has continued to grow and fill out. The tape now shows an athlete who fits best at the TE position. One that can line up inside or outside. The big man is sudden off the line of scrimmage and shows the lateral wiggle to make LBs miss if they try to jam him while lined up inline. Pinter’s athleticism is perfect for the TE position. He is able to stretch the field vertically up the seam. We see him quickly get behind LBs and can split two high safeties after the catch at times. The 6’3″ 215 lbs WR/TE can also run hard after the catch and break through arm tackles. Dequavion is a mismatch before and after the catch. The size, athleticism, quick twitch in short areas, and physicality are all there to make a dominant next level player.

One of the top athletes I wanted to see live was the WR who had earned my #1 ranking before the 2022 season kicked off. Pinter has a thick, powerful frame that has a lot of time to continue to develop. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Pinter end up a WR or TE recruit based off where he is at now. Pinter earned his spot in this article with what he did in the one on one battles. The young man already has a good sense of how to use that big frame to his advantage. He did a great job of always getting himself between the ball and the defender. That allowed him to box out and use his length to catch the ball away from his boy and farther from the defender. Dequavion’s big hands easily brought in passes, even when he was being hit or having his arms swatted. I’m excited to see how the athletic side of his game continues to develop over these next few years. It was a good showing for the WR.
