We initially ranked Brooks on the back of his 800 yards as a freshman for North Stanly. As we’ve learned more about him, we like what we’ve seen and think he could turn into one of the best recruits in North Stanly’s recent history. His physical tools are impressive, with excellent speed and initial burst. He also showed that he excels at the small things you look for from backs. He has patience, wiggle, and excellent contact balance.

One of the top freshman running backs in the state, Brooks flashed high-level ability while also showing he can contribute at linebacker. He finished the season with over 800 total yards, pairing great size with natural power and burst. His best performance came on just five carries, turning them into 116 yards and two touchdowns—an efficiency that jumps off the page. Loaded with talent and only scratching the surface heading into next season.

Brooks has excellent burst and vision at the running back position, and his highlights show he frequently makes second-level defenders miss in the open field. He has excellent speed to the edge, but he also excels between the tackles. He’s played on both sides of the ball, but there’s no doubt his future is at running back after a great freshman season.
