He has taken direct snaps as a dual-threat runner but his fit is likely at cornerback on defense, where he flashes good ball skills and ability to be a solid coverage corner. Richardson can time the ball well with his hands to break up passes and possesses strong coverage skills. At 6-foot-1, 166 pounds, he already has a good frame with room to grow and develop.
