, and his impact was felt right from the start. Fludd’s massive sack in the first half swung momentum toward Bergen Catholic, igniting their defense and fueling a dominant performance. His presence in the trenches was a driving factor in Bergen’s win, paving the way for their defensive success and setting up a victory over a tough St. Joe’s team.

New E
is on a mission, and today’s game against IMG Academy could be his defining moment. Flood has already been mentioned as a potential Defensive Player of the Year candidate in New Jersey, and there’s no better way to start that campaign than by dominating a top-20 team in the nation.
Fludd is a force to be reckoned with as an interior defensive lineman. He excels in both run defense and pass rushing. His ability to disrupt plays at the line of scrimmage is unmatched, making him a game-wrecker. Last season, he started strong with a standout performance against Red Bank Catholic, setting the tone for what he can do early in games.
Fludd’s combination of size, strength, quickness, exceptional hand usage, and powerful lower body make him one of the most formidable interior linemen in the country. A dominant showing today could put him on the radar of more Power Five programs and possibly earn him his first SEC offer. All eyes will be on Delaney Flood as he looks to take over this game.

. Fludd sets up his inside moves, getting to stated inside extremely quick. He has an ability to play with a lower pad level than his matchups – something I seldom praise for defensive linemen. This allows him to win a bullrush whenever he so chooses to deploy it. Fludd stacks his moves in tandem nicely, citing how he used a swipe into a rip. Never overzealous, he maintains the integrity of his pass rush lane. When spinning, Fludd secures his pathway by landing the pin part of the move – although I think there is opportunity for him to hit this move more quickly as footwork and torque improve. A tough ask when playing nose, he can knock back centers at times, collapsing them back into the other a gap and eliminating that gap in the process. Great at disengaging, he sometimes plays too high to work across the face of his matchup. This, and getting his weight room numbers up a bit more, will allow him to dominate and take a big leap into the rankings stratosphere.

New E
is an interior defensive lineman from Bergen Catholic that has been blossoming since his freshman year. Consistently improving each season, what immediately stands out is his leverage and relentless motor. He’s a force in both run defense and pass rush.
Delaney excels as a run defender, using his hands to gain leverage and always being in the right position. He does a great job at blocking neutralization, making plays independently, and plugging gaps. He’s known for making tackles at or behind the line of scrimmage. However, his pass-rushing ability is what truly sets him apart. He might be the best pass-rushing interior defensive lineman in the state.
For Delaney to win one of New Jersey’s Defensive Player of the Year awards, he has everything going for him. The notoriety, high-profile offers, and team success are all in his favor. He can take one of these awards if he can hit that 15-sack mark. Delaney already has offers from James Madison, Coastal Carolina, West Virginia, and Syracuse.

Like Irby-Mason, Fludd will be back for one more go next year. A bigger, interior defensive lineman Fludd did not record a sack in this game. What Fludd did do, however, gets me as a former bigger, interior defensive lineman, excited and giddy inside. Aside from controlling the middle with 2 tackles, the 6’3″ 285 pounder actually picked off a pass in the game-of-all-games.

is the defensive tackle you want to lead a program. Already standing at 6’3″ and 285lbs, Dulaney spent 2022 throwing offensive upper classmen around. He outcompetes some of the best offensive talent in the state. He accomplishes this all by shedding blockers easily, and pursuing down the line relentlessly. Good luck trying to run between the tackles, because you won’t be very successful as long as Dulaney is in the way.
His highlights really showed his run stopping abilities, but we didn’t get a chance to see how he does in pass rush. 2023 will give us a glimpse of what Dulaney is fully capable of.
