Nelson carried the football 80 times for 770 yards and 11 touchdowns during the 2025 season. His highlight reel is loaded with explosive plays.
There’s a few plays where he takes the handoff, hits the inside, and clears the second level almost untouched instantly. His acceleration is a major strength. You don’t really have to wonder about Nelson’s top-end speed, it’s clearly visible on several plays. He routinely outruns defenders who think they have an angle on him. Once he turns that corner on the perimeter, it’s a problem.
I like the way he takes advantage of the solid blocks he gets from his wide receivers downfield. It’s almost as if Nelson is thinking one or two moves ahead when he’s in space. He’s what is called an efficient plant-and-go runner, no dancing at all.
Nelson can be a versatile weapon at the next level. One of his first plays on his highlights is of him running a kickoff back for 70-plus yards.
Overall, he’s an exciting back to watch.

His backfield teammate, Damon Ferguson, share the workload for Milford Mill’s running game. Nelson is quick, shifty, and hard to tackle in a 1v1 situation.

is a home-run threat every time he touches the football. His breakaway speed allows him to erase angles and turn routine carries into explosive chunk plays both inside and outside the tackles. Nelson has a natural burst through the line of scrimmage and the acceleration to separate from defenders in open space.
So far this season, Nelson has totaled 687 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns, while also showcasing his special teams impact with a kick return touchdown, further proof of his game-changing speed.

Another weapon for the Milford offense, look for Dejuan to make strides in his sophomore season. A quick, shifty, slashing RB he is a bit of a change of pace style to Damon’s power/speed wear the defense down running style. Dejuan is nimble on his feet, able to find the alley and dance his way into open space. With the speed to get to the edge and race down the sideline he is another home run threat for this offense. I can see Dejuan being used in the screen game and as an effective out of the backfield as well. Dejuan is another offensive weapon defensive have to worry about for this MMA squad and he could have some impactful plays & big games for them this year.
