Deaube Lighfoot is an underrated athlete in the 2026 class for Bell Vernon. His ability to play as a wide receiver, returner, and safety is special. At all 3 positions, he showed excellent athleticism and speed. As a wide receiver, he showed an excellent ability to gain yards after the catch as defenders struggled to tackle him in the open field. Then, as a returner, he shows that same ability to make defenders miss in space. He also showed good coverage skills and ball skills as a safety, as he made several plays from this position. He also had several interceptions. Lightfoot is a good prospect who is in line for a huge senior year.

He makes up for the lack of size by using his athleticism and his instincts to make plays. He is excellent at blitzing. He does a nice job of waiting and finding an opening and then exploding into the backfield. Lightfoot also does a good job of running sideline-to-sideline chasing down plays all over the field. He also showed a good ability to cover in the passing game. Lightfoot should improve next season and also get some playing time at running back as well.
