Michael Huntley | Prep Redzone Scout
Labrum completed 67 percent of his passes for 3106 yards with 36 touchdowns for a Santa Fe Christian team that won a CIF championship last season.
He goes through his progressions quickly and often times hits the third and fourth options on pass plays. Labrum gets the ball out on time and is accurate down the field. He has good pocket awareness and can buy time with his legs while keeping his eyes on the secondary. Cornell has offered Labrum and he visited Idaho State recently.

Labrum picked up his first offer from Cornell in early March. The 6’2″/185 signal-caller from Santa Fe Christian continued to establish himself as one of San Diego’s best pocket passers last season throwing for 3,000 yards and 36 TDs. He’s a skilled operator from the pocket that can navigate and find space and gets the ball out with a quick, efficient release. He packs an explosive arm that can stretch the ball downfield and can layer the ball to any area of the field. Labrum should continue to generate interest from D-I programs with the arm talent and skillset he possesses.

Labrum recently picked up his first offer from Cornell and is a well coached and put together signal caller that passes the eye test and has a strong arm downfield. He shows he can buy time with his feet in the pocket, quickly get the ball out with a tight spiral and can throw his receivers open downfield with good timing and consistent precision. He’s able to throw on the run, square his shoulders and beat the pressure when needed and is a fast processor that moves defenders with his eyes. He checks a lot of boxes colleges are going to look for and should have a truly breakout senior season for one of the top small school programs in the state.

From Santa Fe Christian in Solana Beach—Labrum’s a 6’3”, 185-pound pocket passer with pedigree (coached by Drew Brees). 3.8 GPA and Luke 1:37 bio show character. His build screams prototypical QB: tall, accurate, with mobility to extend plays. Strengths: Arm talent and poise; Brees mentorship is a huge plus for footwork. To improve: Bulk up to 200+ for durability. Small school champ pedigree (helped win D2 title)—he’s got the tools to attract Ivy or Group of P5 looks. Keep an eye on his camp circuit; this arm could elevate.

Labrum broke out as one of the most productive sophomore QBs in San Diego last season throwing for over 1,600 yards and 21 TDs with only 3 INTs last season. He shows great touch and accuracy on the deep ball and does a good job of moving the pocket to extend plays. Fits passes into tight windows with his anticipation and ability to lead receivers and looks comfortable in the pocket when dealing with pressure. Look for Labrum to continue putting his name on the radar with a strong junior season in the fall.
