showed strong overall awareness throughout the combine. He demonstrated above-average play recognition in movement and coverage-based drills and looked comfortable operating in space. When asked to mirror or carry receivers, he moved fluidly and maintained good positioning.
What stood out was his versatility. He transitioned well between coverage responsibilities and downhill movement drills, showing good balance and coordination. Even in a non-contact setting, his instincts and understanding of linebacker responsibilities were clear, making him a well-rounded defensive prospect.

Film Analysis: Magalhaes is a high-motor player who contributes on both sides of the ball. While listed as an ATH, his defensive tape is where he shines most.
- Strengths: A very good defensive player with above-average play recognition and instincts. He covers well in man-to-man situations from the slot and is eager to come up in run support. On offense, limited clips at Running Back show good vision and an ability to get downhill quickly.
- Areas for Improvement: He appears to be playing slightly out of position; while used as an OLB/Slot hybrid, his athleticism suggests he is a natural Cornerback.
- Scout’s Take: A solid 2029 prospect who plays with high energy. His versatility is an asset, but finding his true defensive home will be key.
Next Level Development:
- Positional Clarity: Off-season work should focus on WR/RB and DB drills to determine his highest ceiling.
- Testing: Verified testing scores will help colleges understand his athletic profile better.

is a talented rising freshman whose versatility is bound to shine in the upcoming season! At 5’11” and 180 pounds, he has the potential to excel as a Running Back, but his future looks bright on the defensive side of the ball, according to our Middle School National Director, Al Pops. Currently projecting between an Outside Linebacker and Edge player, Davi’s unique skill set allows him to adapt as he progresses through high school. With the recent arrival of a new head coach at St. John’s, there’s a fantastic opportunity for him to earn valuable playing time early in his high school career. As he continues to grow and refine his skills, Davi could become a formidable force on defense, making him a player to watch this fall! Exciting developments await as he embarks on this thrilling journey!

Read EvaluationAlan Popadines | Prep Redzone Scout
- Magalhaes was a man amongst boys this season for the Marlborough Panthers, clearly establishing himself as one of the most elite players in all of the Central Massachusetts Youth Football and Cheer Conference
- During the regular season he averaged well over 100 yards on the ground per game and was equally as impactful defensively as a Linebacker/Edge player. His efforts landed him a spot on the 14U Central Mass Chaos (the Conference All-Stars) for the second consecutive year. The Chaos went on to fight tooth and nail for a 3rd place finish in a incredibly talented bracket, outscoring their opponents 36-14 in three games. That score differential may not pop out, but they shut out two of their opponents and were the only team to hold National Champion Phoenix to 14 points.
- We fist wrote about Magalhaes during mid-season back in October. To put it bluntly, I still don’t know what position is the best fit for a player with his skill set, so he’s getting the ATH (Athlete) designation. He has the ability to be a good High School Running Back, but I think his future will be on the defensive side of the ball. He’s somewhere between an Outside Linebacker and Edge player. To further complicate it, he played some H-Back for the Chaos All-Star team in Florida. Time will tell here.

Magalhaes is a big back with bigger ability. He is what you consider a business decision once he’s through the line of scrimmage. His contact balance is insane. Game for game, he doesn’t need many touches because his yards per carry are freakish. I like his no quit attitude and his body is more mature than most at this level.
