This whole list could be composed of only West Side players, however, this one will be playing for Weequahic in 2023. Another receiver returning for the 2023 is Darrell Barrow Darrell Barrow 5'8" | 150 lbs | WR Weequahic | 2024 NJ . Darrell may be the smaller of the two West Side receivers on this list, but what he lacks in size he makes up with killer speed and nimbleness. Darrell is able to weave in and out of defenders as he fluidly out maneuvers them. He brought in 332 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns in 2022, but don’t be surprised if we see those numbers double this next season. Darrell will be able to make a name for himself in a new environment in 2023.

**Update: Barrow has transferred to Weequahic High School in Newark***
_________________________
As of recent years the Westside Roughriders of Newark have been the city’s team-to-beat. However, there is one player that nobody on the team can ride for long with because he is so fast. At 5’9″ 150lbs is explosive WR Darrell Barrow Darrell Barrow 5'8" | 150 lbs | WR Weequahic | 2024 NJ . Lining up mostly in the slot and also serving as the team’s placeholder, Barrow was credited with 14 catches for 332 yards, 3 TD, and 1, two-point conversion. After watching Barrow’s tape I suspect that these stats are underreported given the ample amount of plays he has made.
Barrow wins at the line with his release. Already in an advantageous position because he is off the line, he gets defenders on their heels and turned around in a hurry. This opens up the route tree for Barrow, as he runs verts, wheels, whips, bubbles, and ins effectively. He is very shifty and does not lose speed when making moves. As any true deep threat would, Barrow tracks, and adjusts, to the ball extremely well as it is in flight. Given his stature, he is smart and braces for impact when catching passes in tight windows, while looking to make catches with his hands. Cleaning up his footwork will make Barrow even more dangerous, as if that was possible, during his Junior campaign.
The Newark Intra-city rivalries run deep. It will be interesting to see who wins this year’s matchup between Westside and Weequahic – or perhaps another team emerges out of Newark? Either way, Barrow figures to have leave his mark all over the city.
