Anselmo-Merna’s Dane Duryea Dane Duryea 6'4" | 200 lbs | QB/LB Anselmo-Merna | 2027 State NE is a very interesting prospect with a ton of raw talent waiting to be unlocked at the next level. He starred on both sides of the field as a dual-threat QB and LB, ending the year with 612 passing yards, 1,869 rushing yards, seven passing touchdowns, 37 rushing touchdowns, 84 tackles, two TFLs, and three interceptions. Dane’s athleticism, size, and versatility will draw the attention of several coaches as he stands 6’4″ and 200 pounds, could play QB, RB, TE, LB, or S, and has a reported 4.71 40-yard dash. Watching Dane’s tape, my biggest takeaway was that he is a flat-out “gamer.” He is very tough to bring down on initial contact and often requires multiple defenders to make the tackle. Duryea embraces contact and will often even look to dish some out himself. Defensively, Duryea is a quick-trigger LB with a quick first step when he keys in on the run. He uses good technique and power at the point of attack to ensure the stop. Versatile ATH worth getting on campus this summer!
