The Bayport product was recognized as the top running back in Suffolk County and he was borderline unstoppable in the Phantoms undefeated title run. Aiello had 1,648 rushing yards and 26 touchdowns on the ground. His combination of speed and strength allowed him to dominate every time he stepped on the field. He will be playing lacrosse at Navy next fall.

The legendary football career has come to an end for Danny Aiello but I’m not sure he could’ve gone out any better. The Navy lacrosse commit proved once again that he was the best athlete on the field and it wasn’t close. He had an 82 yard rushing touchdown in the first quarter to set the tone. He ended the game with 233 yards rushing and 3 TD’s on just 19 carries. His strength and speed were too much for the Vikings on offense. He also had a huge interception, broke up passes and was a tackling machine on defense.

The running back from Bayport has the opportunity to have one of the best statistical seasons this year. Aiello is one of the best pure athletes on the island. The Navy lacrosse commit has the combination of speed, toughness and a motor that doesn’t stop. And with Bayport this year, the Phantoms will most likely run the ball more due to Brady Clark graduating. So we will see Aiello get fed a ton of carries and he will pull off explosive runs behind a great offensive line.
