Hard work pays off, and Champlin Park’s 2027 linebacker Damon Torke Damon Torke 5'11" | 202 lbs | LB Champlin Park | 2027 MN is now up to 6’1, 215 lbs., ready-made and willing for the physical, run-heavy matchups that come with MN’s 6A competition week to week. The PrepRedzoneMN Showcase veteran, who played in three tackles in 2024 as a sophomore, posting 10 tackles and a fumble that he recovered for a TD, is in the midst of a strong junior campaign with the 7-1 Rebels, tallying 37 tackles, 2 TFLs, 2 sacks, 3 FF in six games of regular season action.

Torke has a knack for forced fumbles and getting his hands/head on the rock, as you can see by his three FFs in six games stat line of the regular season. The off-ball ILB does a good job of sniffing out the rock, weaving and wading through traffic, and cutting off and/or squaring up ball carriers for minimal gains, especially after he runs his feet post-contact. He takes good angles to the football, does a good job of tracking the hip and mirroring ball carriers cuts when running the alley or pursuing to the sideline, and closes quickly. He also seems to be able to consistently win at the contact point when tackling RBs, and does a good job of not getting tied up around the box by climbing iOL.
