I was really impressed with Pope’s performance against Deshler. He completed 6/9 passes for 76 yards and one TD in the air, and racked up 63 yards and 3 TDs on the ground as well.

Pope has seen his recruitment ramp up this offseason, receiving offers from Tuskegee, West Alabama, and Alabama State over the last few months.

With their talent and coaching, I won’t be surprised to see Anniston have a big season this fall. Pope is a game-changer at the QB position who can dominate defenses on the ground and through the air- it’ll be seriously fun to watch this group play this fall.

It’ll be exciting watching his senior year this fall- he’s an explosive playmaker with a big year ahead.

Damon Pope Damon Pope 5'11" | 175 lbs | QB Anniston | 2026 State AL is a highly athletic QB out of Anniston who is coming off a monster junior year where he dominated teams all across the state with his arm and legs.

Pope is an explosive dual threat who keeps defenses on their heels every single snap- he’s electric on the move and has great speed, acceleration, and elusiveness he uses to easily carve up defenses on the ground. Pope is just as talented, if not more as a passer- he has terrific arm talent and can make some seriously impressive throws. He has tons of arm strength, throws with great accuracy, and perfectly hits his WRs in stride downfield for huge gains.

Pope was terrific last season and ended the year with 30 total TDs, and teams at the next level are starting to take notice of his talents. Earlier this week, Pope picked up his first offer from Alabama State, and with his talent, expect there to be more on the way soon!
