Johnson played his best football down the stretch for Union Pines, making 15 tackles and deflecting three passes in his final four games. Then, he gained some traction on the recruiting trail and has taken off. The Vikings are known for their impressive offseason work, and Johnson is in the process of transforming and improving his body. He’s still a guy who has more potential than elite production, but he has the length, athleticism, and ball skills to be an impact defensive back at the next level.

A corner prospect, Damarie plays very well in off-man coverage, showing excellent technique with his footwork and good reaction skills to the football when thrown at him. Damarie also tackles well in the running game and is not afraid to come up in outside run support. Teams took a few shots deep on him, and Damarie showed good long speed to stay with receivers on the outside. A couple of situations, Damarie also came on a corner blitz, and he got to the quarterback very quickly, so I think he could play some safety as well as an option. I’m excited to see what Damarie can put on tape after an offseason of further development.
