Mercer is also a skilled route runner, using his quickness to create separation in his breaks. After the catch, he is able to use his speed and elusiveness to turn short passes into big gains. He has also shown promise as a ball carrier, running the ball 31 times for 230 yards and five touchdowns in the regular season. Mercer will also have value as a returner on special teams as he has the ability to break  off on a long return at any moment. Daisjaun is committed to Miami (OH) where I see him being a key piece for them wherever they decide to play him.

Mercer continued to show that he is one of the most dynamic athletes in the state, catching seven passes for 146 yards and two touchdowns while also running the ball six times for 26 yards and a touchdown. At receiver, he has elite speed which he uses to run right by defensive backs in the deep passing game to create separation. He also creates separation with his route running ability and has the athleticism to go up and catch passes at their highest point. Mercer also does a lot of damage with the ball in his hands, using his speed and elusiveness to turn short passes and carries into big gains. Daisjaun is committed to Miami (OH) where I expect him to play a key role once he gets there.

Mercer is also very dangerous with the ball in his hands as he has the elusiveness to make defenders miss in the open field and the speed to run away from the defense. He also showed promise as a ball carrier, running the ball 31 times for 230 yards and five touchdowns this season. On defense, Mercer plays corner and is very reliable in man coverage, showing the ability to mirror receivers’ routes. He also shows impressive ball skills with the ability to time his breaks to make plays. Mercer finished the regular season with 31 total tackles and three interceptions with one returned for a touchdown. Daisjaun is committed to Miami (OH) where I expect him to be a key play maker once he gets there.

Daisjaun Mercer Daisjaun Mercer 6'0" | 185 lbs | ATH Hopkinsville | 2023 State KY is a player that jumped out to me in my evaluations this summer that I believe is equally dangerous on both sides of the ball. On defense, he lines up all over the secondary but mainly at safety and had an impressive junior year, finishing with 51 tackles and six interceptions. He has very impressive route recognition skills and reacts at the perfect time to break on the ball and catch it in stride for an interception. Mercer also shows the ability to fill the lane and provide run support, showing great open field tackling ability, running his feet on contact to secure the tackle. On the offensive side of the ball, Mercer is the complete package at wide receiver. As a junior, he caught 44 passes for 1,127 yards and 13 touchdowns. He is an impressive route runner, has the speed to beat his man deep, elusiveness to pick up yards after the catch, and athleticism to win in jump ball situations. Mercer has also proven to be a very dangerous returner on special teams. Daisjaun is committed to play at Miami (OH) and should find a key role for them early in his college career.
