The strong season continued on Friday for dynamic Cardinal Newman running back Cortez Lane. With his excellent vision and quick legs, Lane burst past Ben Lippen’s defense early and often for 175 yards and three touchdowns on 17 carries. His speed and decisiveness allow him to promptly find running lanes and use his breakaway speed to escape tacklers and find open grass. Lane should be the primary spark of an efficient Cardinal Newman offense going forward and will be tough to stop next Friday against John Paul II.

The strong season continued on Friday for dynamic Cardinal Newman running back Cortez Lane. With his excellent vision and quick legs, Lane burst past Ben Lippen’s defense early and often for 175 yards and three touchdowns on 17 carries. His speed and decisiveness allow him to promptly find running lanes and use his breakaway speed to escape tacklers and find open grass. Lane should be the primary spark of an efficient Cardinal Newman offense going forward and will be tough to stop next Friday against John Paul II.
