Our crew was impressed with Heggenstaller during his performance on Friday. He checked in at 6-foot-0.5 and 282 pounds. Had some decent testing numbers as well. Good foundational skills and notably a team captain for Central Columbia.

Cordell Heggenstaller isn’t a new name to the site like some of his District IV brethren in this piece. After my initial look at the Central Columbia captain, I felt comfortable enough to rank him among the top 50 offensive linemen in his class. Big praise. After taking a look at his junior tape, I can safely say that Heggenstaller will likely see a jump in rank again this coming update. Left tackle duties, not a single sack allowed apparently. Love some of his reps when in run-blocking sets. Often strong-side, often works with a tight end aligned beside him. Elbows in, powerful arm type of run-blocker that looks to get his man off-balance and finish. Down blocks well, isn’t a hesitant run-blocker, shows occasional violence/tone-setting. Projecting his future stock among potential collegiate suitors is tough for one main reason, he doesn’t necessarily meet the physical thresholds needed for next-level left tackles. What’s great is, Heggenstaller can certainly be of use kicked inside, as I like him more of a run-blocking tackle than a pass-protecting one. Heggenstaller can certainly be of use on the other side of the football too. Heggenstaller fills the “DE” role in a three down-linemen front. Like what I see overall.
