A run-stuffing defender from Jasper County, Durand is a sleeper North Georgia defender with toughness, grit, and a strong competitive drive. He she’s blocks with ease and closes quickly on the ball-carrier. He’s a tackling machine who made 166 tackles as a sophomore last season with 14 TFLs and four sacks. He creates problems for the offense in many different ways and should be one of the top defenders in the region this fall as a junior. If he continues to work hard and develop over time, Durand could see some college opportunities to comes his way down the road.
