Expert Analysis
Rob Howe | Prep Redzone Scout
Small was one of the most productive performers for a squad that reached the Class 3A postseason in 2025. The junior rushed for 945 yards (6.6 YPC) and 12 touchdowns, and caught three passes for 21 yards. He racked up 54.5 tackles, 42 of which were solo stops. Small was credited with 2.5 tackles for loss, a sack, an interception, a forced fumble and a pair of fumble recoveries. His Hudl page lacks a full 11th-grade highlight video, but there are clips from each game during this past fall. On them, we witness a running back picking his way between the tackles with sharp cutting and burst that gets him downhill in a hurry. There’s power in his legs and effective pad level. Small’s athleticism and speed also translate well to the defensive side of the ball, where he could project as a punishing safety.
