Gumino is a 6’2, 195 lbs signal caller out of Hersey. In his junior season, Gumino threw for nearly 2,500 yards and 35 touchdowns on a 72% completion percentage clip. He may be one of the best deep ball throwers in the state. Gumino displays tremendous touch and the arm strength to push the ball down the field vertically. He plays with incredible anticipation, as he can accurately lead receivers open even when they appeared covered. Gumino is also a strong athlete, as he displays tremendous speed and elusiveness when he does choose to tuck it and run. This Class of 2025 play maker in Gumino may be the top quarterback in the state by the time his senior campaign ends.

Hersey’s offense has been a well oiled machine in 2023. Averaging 43 points a game, they seemingly have been unstoppable through 8 games. They have a balanced attack and do a nice job getting their playmakers the ball in space. The man behind center has been running the offense effectively all year long. Gumino has been extremely accurate as well with a completion percentage of 69% and 3 interceptions. Gumino and the undefeated Huskies want to show the world they are for real and make a deep run in the 7A playoffs.

The All-Conference Hersey stand out impressed for the Huskies in his sophomore season. Gumino stands at 6’2 and weighs 185 lbs. He has a powerful arm and strong accuracy that puts his receivers in a solid position to make a catch. Gumino has a great pocket presence. He scans the field with patience while finding his target. When he sees an open receiver, Gumino releases the ball with zip and can fit throws into tight windows. He also displays plus athleticism. Gumino doesn’t always look to run, but when he does, he shows impressive speed and shiftiness. Gumino is poised for a breakout junior season.
