Expert Analysis
Patton Fitzpatrick | Prep Redzone Scout
The 6’3, 245 lbs tight end from Hersey was a touchdown machine last season. Farrell tallied 10 touchdowns on 34 receptions. He was a threat in the red zone and scored multiple ways, including being split out for one-on-one jump balls and hole shots over the middle of the field. He also impressed with his route running and speed once catching the ball in the open field. Because of this combination of size and speed, Farrell is extremely tough to tackle after the catch. However, his best asset may be his blocking. Farrell is a nasty and physical blocker who uses his hands and leverage to drive defenders to the ground to finish on blocks. Farrell is a definition of a true tight end, who can catch and run just as well as he blocks. Look for Farrell to have a monster junior season.
