, who immediately found success under Center for the Norsemen. Willis threw for 2217 yards, 25 TDs, and 14 INTs while adding a rushing TD. Contrary to several QBs starting for Roland-Story over the last few seasons, Willis wasn’t afraid to sling it, and he often found success slinging the ball down the field, showing impressive strength and depth on his passes, and he does well throwing under pressure and not rushing his throws. Willis shows quick feet in the pocket, and could improve as a potent scrambler with some work this offseason as he’s shown capable of creating plays when he tucks the ball and takes off past the LOS. Willis gives a lot for the Norsemen to be excited about, and with his leadership, Roland-Story could become a force to be reckoned with in the 2A conference going forward.
Willis had a heck of a sophomore campaign for Roland-Story. He threw for 2217 yards on 151/262 passing. Colin racked up 25 touchdowns against 14 interceptions. His film from this past year backs up what people have been talking about – a young quarterback with a good pocket presence who has a strong arm with a compact delivery. Willis did a good job of throwing his receivers open. The 25/14 ratio is not concerning due to being a sophomore and playing in a competitive conference. I look for that ratio to improve next year.
Willis flashed plenty of upside this season in quarterbacking the Norsemen to the second round of the postseason. The sophomore completed 57.6 percent of his throws for 2,217 yards and 25 touchdowns against 14 interceptions. He added a score on the ground. Willis brings a projectable frame and an impressive arm to the gridiron on Friday nights. His throwing motion is fast and easy, making it look like he’s just flicking the ball in pushing in downfield. His arm strength gets the ball into tight windows, as we see during his 10th-grade highlight video. Willis also shows touch on the ball when it’s needed and can move around, although her prefers operating from the pocket.
