About Cohen
Expert Analysis
Josh White | Prep Redzone Scout
Thomas operates with poise and control, never rushing himself even when the pocket starts to tighten. He’s at his best working the intermediate area, where his touch and ball placement allow him to drop throws between zones with consistency. He doesn’t force the issue—he lets the coverage declare and responds accordingly.
What stands out is how comfortable he is throwing on the move. He keeps his base intact, delivers a catchable ball, and stays accurate outside of structure. The play action element is clean and convincing, and he does a good job of keeping defenders in conflict. He’s a rhythm passer who keeps drives alive by making the right throw at the right time.

has made some exciting plays for Smiths Station’s offense this season.
Thomas is a mobile quarterback who can keep defenses on their toes by using his legs. He’s a threat throwing the ball on the run, and has impressive speed/quickness he can use to take the ball and scramble upfield. When you combine that with his arm talent, it makes him a QB you’ve got to watch out for.
I’m really impressed with how Thomas reads the field. He’s confident in the pocket, doesn’t panic under pressure, and can find open targets to deliver passes to downfield. He has a great understanding of what he needs to do at the position.”
Thomas has put together some impressive film this season. Check out some of his clips down below:

is a dynamic dual threat quarterback. As a freshman, Thomas was absolutely electric. He rushed for 463 yards and connected on 52 of 70 passes for an additional 957 yards. Thomas posted a 4.89 forty and brings a ton of athleticism to the Panthers’ backfield. With a year of varsity experience under his belt, we expect Thomas to enjoy even more success in 2024 and see his recruiting stock rise.

Dual-threat quarterbacks are always fun to watch. With them being able to do almost everything on the football field, they can be a headache to prepare for and

fits the bill. Standing at 6’0 and 160 pounds, the Alabama quarterback put on quite the showcase of his skills this past season. In the pocket, Cohen has a very calm nature about himself and handles defensive pressure with poise and his eyes always looking downfield. On the run, Cohen moves well (4.9 forty) and proves capable of escaping pressure when needed. As a passer, Cohen throws a nice, easy ball whether he is sitting in the pocket or on the run. The final thing that impresses me about Cohen is his understanding of where to place the ball while his receivers are on the run. With his ball placement, he can complete safe throws to his receivers and create easy completions. The next four years of development should be fun to watch.

Standing at 5-foot-11 and 150-pounds, Thomas was at the helm of a Smiths Station Junior High football team that went to the playoffs this year. A two-year captain, he was the engine of an offense that consistently found ways to put points on the board for much of the year.

A quick look around the landscape of college and professional football will tell you that a confident, competent leader at the Quarterback position is a big factor in a team’s success. Thomas plays that role for the Smiths Station Junior High Panthers. Located less than 40-minutes from Auburn, Thomas is a 5-foot-11, 155-pound, dual-threat Quarterback that is one of the unquestioned leaders of his team. After ending up on the wrong side of a 46-0 thrashing to kick off the season in late August, Thomas and the Panthers have rebounded nicely with impressive play. Running around with 4.88 (unverified) speed, he doesn’t try to do too much. However, he can also extend plays with his legs to give his playmakers, like Jaylen Huff and
