Herman ran for 170 yards with three touchdowns and had 93 yards receiving with a score in La Costa Canyon’s win over Carlsbad.

Herman added a pair of Big Sky offers from UC Davis and Sacramento St. this month. The talented RB out of La Costa Canyon also announced his commitment to UC Davis just a week after picking up his second D-I offer from the Aggies. He led LCC in rushing and receiving last season with over 1,400 total yards and 18 TDs as a junior. Herman is the first RB off the board in San Diego’s 2026 class.

Herman is one of the more explosive players across the San Diego region and is coming off a tremendous Junior season campaign for La Costa Canyon. He is a explosive and violent runner that is a natural pass catcher out of the backfield and can create good separation in the open field when breaking away from defenders. In the short area, he shows lateral agility and good sudden movements through the hole while able to cut back against flow and is a patient runner that stays behind his blocks before hitting his second gear. Herman recently committed to UC Davis, and is a big-time get for the Aggies as he should fit nicely in their offensive system.

Herman took his first visit of 2025 to Toledo early this month. The 5’10″/180 RB out of La Costa Canyon has seen his stock rise over the past several months since posting over 1,700 all-purpose yards and 21 total TDs as a junior. He’s a versatile playmaker out of the backfield that combines underrated speed and athleticism with a high-level receiving skillset. He sees the field well, shows his agility cutting to space, and wastes minimal movement getting downhill. Herman picked up his first offer from Northern Arizona in November and could be adding to that list in the near future.

Herman showed his versatility and playmaking upside leading one of the top teams in San Diego (La Costa Canyon) in both rushing and receiving as a junior. Rushed for over 850 yards and 13 TDs on 129 carries and caught 41 passes for another 600 yards and 5 TDs last season. He’s a well-rounded offensive weapon that possesses all the speed, athleticism and receiving skills to develop into a future playmaker at the D-I level. He’s a smooth navigator through traffic around the LOS, shows his burst and acceleration breaking away at the second level and tends to produce home-run plays with the ball in his hands on the perimeter. Herman picked up his first offer from NAU in November and should continue to add to his list in the near future.
